Who we are

Long a center for photographic innovation, the city of Santa Fe joins a global celebration of the 200th anniversary of the oldest existing photograph, made by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce (French, 1765–1833) in 1827, with an eight month long 2027 celebration including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and other programming at a variety of venues. Because of its accessibility, pervasiveness, and broad appeal to people of all ages, Photography 200 New Mexico will draw a wide audience of visitors interested in learning more about the history, the practice, and the future of this important medium.
